PM Modi Virtually Inaugurates Permanent Campus of IIT Bhilai
On February 20, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai from Jammu, marking a significant milestone in India’s higher education landscape. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with senior officials, faculty members, and students at the IIT Bhilai campus.

Spread over 400 acres, the newly developed campus was constructed at a cost of ₹879.22 crore, providing world-class infrastructure and advanced research facilities. Designed to accommodate up to 2,500 students, the institute currently hosts over a thousand students across 11 engineering disciplines, fostering academic excellence and innovation.
